Singh interview with Classic FM 101.2 MHZ, "Clinic Air" Program.
In
Classic FM "Clinic Air" program on Saturday from 8PM
To 9PM, 11th Nov 2006, Ms. Manju Karki Lamechane interviewed Dr. Manisha Singh. Program was live telecast on air with the general
dental discussion, questions from the general public and awareness to
the listeners on dental hygiene.
Problems
discussed are:
- What
is the immediate medicine during tooth ache?
- Dental
treatment is safe or not in case of hypertensive and Diabetes?
- What
do you do if just root stump is left and is not giving any
problem?
- Is
it possible to put Denture in case of flat ridges?
- Fixed
prosthesis is good or bad?
- Orthodontic
treatment is reliable or not?
- Bad
oral hygiene is related to heart disease or not?
- There
is a misconception that frequent brushing removes teeth enamel, is
it true?
- Is
toothache problem solved by praying Tooth God or by hammering nail
in a got statue at Kilaghar, Kathmandu?
Some
of the dental tips discussed during the program were:
- Eat
as much chocolate you want, but after eating, always rinse your
mouth, if possible brush your teeth.
- Brush
your teeth before going to the bed and after breakfast.
- Mouthwash
is safe and can be used in case of bad breath.
- Rinse
your mouth after every snack.
- Used
only soft and medium brush.
- Proper
brushing technique is move brush "Up & Down".
- Visit
your Dentist twice a year– taking precautions before it is
severe.

Free
Dental Camp on occasion of "National Children's Day", 13th
September2006.
As 13th September is celebrated
as "National Children's Day" in Nepal and on
its occasion Kumari Dental Care conducted free one day dental check -
up camp for students under 12 years of age from various schools in its own
clinic premise. Approximately 200 students from Nepal Adarsa Secondary
School, Ganabahal, Himalaya high School, NewRoad, Nava Adarsa School,Kanti
Iswari School , Sri Kanya Secondary school, Etkha and Ganesh Borading
School, Bhota Bahal have participated.
We have conducted such activities under
directives from National Dental Association, which was circulated to all
dental clinics.
Outcomes from the camp were as follows:

General awareness among the students to understand about
their oral health in more details

Make the students smile, when they are
visiting dental clinic (students usually fear when they are visiting
dental clinic)

Participation at Health and Food Festival, 9-11 September 2005
Kumari
Dental Care took part in Kathmandu Food and Fun Festival - Charity with
taste, was held on 9-11 September 2005 in order to celebrate the
birthday of Queen Mother Ratna Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah and mark the 41st
Childrens’ Day. The Food Festival was organized jointly by Ratna Bal
Kosh, Aishwarya Swastha Kosh and Apanga Kosh. The festival was held for
three days and was open to public.
All
together, 300 checkups were done from the stall, to the public. In every
checkup, there were free distribution of pearl toothbrush and toothpaste
sponsored by RB Brush Industries Pvt. Ltd. In addition, practical dental
myth and realities educating booklet was freely distributed to all the
people who took part in the exhibition.
The major
objective of this Oral Health Stall was to bring dental awareness to the
public regarding the dental problems through counseling and checkup and show
them various treatment options coupled with the active participation from
the major dental associated companies who will display their product and
public can know the usage of the product and buy from the stall.
